It’s about the people who make it happen

Working with landowners, regulatory authorities, and local communities

TSNZ’s stakeholder engagement and acquisition specialists are actively engaging with local communities at every step of the project. This includes early and ongoing communication with local councils, mayors, Members of Parliament, the Department of Conservation, and local Mana Whenua.

TSNZ Stakeholder Engagement and Acquisition

Engagement begins early and continues throughout the entire project, with a dedicated team responsible for keeping stakeholders informed and involved. Although engagement is not only about keeping stakeholders informed, it’s also essential to the success of the project. Collaboration and trusting engagement is critical for securing site access, addressing environmental factors, and ensuring local voices are heard.

In 2024 and early 2025, TSNZ sent over 1,100 letters across the country introducing mayors, MPs, councils and iwi to the LMR network build programme, in addition to meetings, site visits, and ongoing communications with landowners.
